Shubert Collin Associés was founded in 1990 by Gary Michael Shubert (1948-2014), a US lawyer, member of the New York and Paris Bars.
After studying at University of California, Berkeley and Harvard, Gary started his career in 1980 at Cleary, Gottlieb, Steen and Hamilton’s New York office before moving to their Paris office in 1983.
Since its creation, Shubert Collin Associés has developed a practice dedicated to providing legal services in cross-border transactions, especially in French-American trade – assisting foreign companies set up or manage operations in France as well as French companies operating overseas.
Bernard Collin joined forces with Gary in 1995. He started his career as a tax inspector in 1984 before spending nearly 10 years as a tax attorney with Ernst & Young. He worked with French and foreign clients in business law (corporate, commercial, M & A) as well as tax law. He has taken honorary status with the Paris Bar.
Blandine Dutilloy began her career in the labor law department of Gide Loyrette Nouel in 2001. She joined Shubert Collin in 2004 to develop our labor law and international relocation department and was named a partner in January 2013.and was named a partner in January 2013.
Member of the Michigan and Paris Bars, Mark Sadoff joined the firm as a partner in 2016 after spending 30 years in private practice, government service, but predominantly as in-house counsel for French multinational corporations. He has developed a wide experience in commercial law, international contracts, antitrust, intellectual property and M & A for both industrial and service companies.
After practicing in the public and tax law department of Salans (currently Dentons), and being a founding partner of Froment-Meurice, as well as his own firm, Charles-Henri de Saint-Julien joined the firm as a partner in 2017. He reinforces the firm’s tax practice both as an advisor and as a litigator.
In February 2019, Sylvain Pavillet joined the firm as a partner. He has a doctorate in American corporate law and brings his experience in corporate and business law. He also began his career at Salans before joining Rambaud Martel (currently Orrick), de Pardo & Associés, Asmar & Assayag as well as Lerins BCW & Associés over a period of over 20 years.
While maintaining and developing its expertise in advising internationally oriented companies, Shubert Collin Associés has managed to grow its base and operate as counselors and litigators for a wide-range of companies from large listed foreign groups to small and medium sized French companies, family-run businesses, public organizations, trade groups, non-profits, as well as individuals interested in wealth management.
