Our Story

photo-garyShubert Collin was founded in 1990 by Gary Michael Shubert (1948-2014), a U.S. lawyer admitted to both the New York and Paris Bars.

After studying at the University of California at Berkeley and at Harvard Law School, Gary Shubert began his career in 1980 at Cleary, Gottlieb, Steen & Hamilton in New York, and joined their Paris office in 1983.

Since the firm was founded, Shubert Collin has developed a practice specifically tailored to its French/U.S. clientele; the firm regularly advises French companies in connection with their commercial and industrial development in the United States and foreign companies with regard to their commercial activities in France.

In addition to offering and continuing to develop its practice for internationally-oriented businesses, Shubert Collin has also gradually expanded into other areas of expertise, and now offers both legal advice and litigation support to French subsidiaries of publicly listed foreign corporations as well as small and medium-sized companies, public institutions, trade unions, non-profit organizations and individuals with regard to wealth management.
