The Firm regularly becomes involved with wills, trusts and estate law matters for individuals having need of legal advice in this area in France, and in particular in connection with matters of succession involving French decedents or estate planning in connection with real property or other assets subject to French law.
While real estate acquisitions or sales in France require the presence of a notaire, the Firm does become involved in real estate transactions on behalf of foreign companies or individuals where our role is to provide assistance and advice to potential purchasers with respect to French real estate practice, to provide French tax advice and propose corporate structures so as to minimize tax costs and potential liability.
The Firm is regularly involved in connection with the drafting and negotiation of French commercial leases, both for French and foreign clients. In particular some of our clients are U.S. individuals involved with estate law proceedings in France. |
